ACTIONS, NOT TRICKS

Responsibility

Responsibility has always been part of Soupster’s brand. In our everyday life, responsibility is reflected in the choices made every day in the kitchen, at the checkout, and in the meeting room. For us, it means putting our values – caring, fun, and continuous development – into practice.

The goal for 2025–2026 is to develop Soupster’s responsibility and implement it even better in practice in the form of a responsibility guide.

How does responsibility show in our work?

“Continuous development” is not just a value for us – it’s a routine. Responsibility is not a finished package but a living process in which every single employee and decision takes us in a better direction.

Seasonal thinking & ingredients

Good food starts with smart choices.

  • We make use of seasonal products and adapt ingredients according to the season
  • A weekly changing seasonal ingredient is offered at lunch
  • We use domestic products whenever possible
  • We choose responsible partners who share our values

Minimizing waste

Food waste is a waste of resources – and we don’t waste good food.

  • Careful kitchen work ensures nothing goes to waste
  • We sell surplus food forward – good food is not thrown away
  • We guide customers to take only as much as they can eat
  • Smaller plate sizes and reducing trays help in understanding portion sizes
  • We design the service path and food lines responsibly, using service design methods

Ecological choices in everyday life

We make small decisions that have a big impact.

  • We use ecological disposable tableware
  • We reduce water consumption, e.g. by reducing the use of trays
  • We optimize energy use – devices are only used when needed
  • We invest in energy-efficient equipment that consumes less but does more

Social responsibility & community

For us, responsibility is above all about respecting people.

  • An equal work community and the Soupster Code of Conduct guide our operations
  • Charity initiatives and community projects are part of our culture
  • We handle data protection responsibly and transparently
  • We develop our operations in an employee-driven way, e.g. through the Green Advisory Board

Green Advisory Board

Soupster Green Advisory Board (GAB) is a responsibility committee consisting of employees of the group, with the goal of developing Soupster Family’s responsibility in an employee-driven way. Everyone is welcome to participate, and employees from the kitchen, the dining room, administration, and management are involved.

GAB meets once a month to discuss ideas that can improve Soupster’s environmental and social sustainability and to consider ways to turn these ideas into concrete actions.

The group meets once a month to reflect on various challenges and solutions to responsibility issues. GAB is an excellent tool for employee involvement and, through it,

  • The Green Advisory Board promotes environmental and social responsibility

  • GAB supports employee participation – ideas do not remain on paper but are visible in the restaurants

  • GAB won the Innovation category at the 2025 PRO Gala
